L-Carnatine Supplement for Fatigue

I am wondering if anyone has tried L-Carnatine for fatigue? There was a medical study that showed documented improvements in fatigued patients that were on 500-1000mg for two months.

Hey West Nile Buddies!
I am wondering if there is anyone out there that has tried physical therapy to help with fatigue? I am thinking of trying it since I'm not so sure I'm doing well on my physical strengthening on my own anymore. Just wondering if there are success/failures out there with this??
Also anyone try massage therapy?

swine flu shot-fyi

I do not like to get a flu shot because it makes me so ill (before WNV). But my doctor said that I had to get the swine flu shot...but to only get half a dose. He said that it should protect me about 90%. I got the 1/2 and I did not have any reaction. Now I must hope that I am not part of that 10%. jb

Muscle Cramping and Knotting

Hello everyone. Got WNV in August of 2008. At the end of February of 2009 I happily declared myself 100% free of symptoms on this site. We'll not all is perfect. I often get muscle cramps and really painful knots that take a while to stretch out. It seems the knotting have been getting worse in recent months. At this point I get them multiple times a day. I've been exercising more lately and think that might be the cause but I get them in odd places like the neck and upper back...

I greatly appreciate the advice that I have been receiving from this group. I do have a problem and am hoping that someone can give me some input. My headaches seem to have eased as long as I keep heat away from the top of my head and avoid stress. It also looks like once you are positive for the disease, a person has a 50/50 chance of it being NeuroInvasive. hmmm.

I just found this site and it is weird that so many people told me that things were in my head and I come to find out they are not. Since I contracted WN about 6 weeks ago I have been in and out of the hospital and on IV therapy for dehydration on 2 occasions.

I do have a couple of question s to see if these are normal things associated with WN.

I have had muscle spasms in my right quad for about 3 weeks and nothing I do helps. Any advice?

On August 25th, 2009 I tested postivie for West Nile. I actually thought that I was going insane. The top of my head feels abraised and I can't even stand to have a breeze move my hair; and often can't stand the thought of even washing my hair because I know it will hurt. I have numbness and/or tingling in the left side of my face, my left arm and hand and my right foot. My eyes feel mattered, but don't look it and I sweat a lot. My neck and shoulders hurt pretty badly....

This drug CURED WNV in mice. More effective than immunoglobulin therapy also. Lots of treatment sites.
I don't think it works for those out of the acute phase but works for those newly diagnosed.

West Nile survivor w/paralysis 10 months ago w/opdate

This is Jeff in San Diego. Haven't written in a while.

Had meningitis and paralysis of the left leg Sept 2008. Am happy to report all the symptoms of West Nile are gone and have been for months.

I had total paralysis of my left leg......now I am walking, hiking, riding a bike, swimming......but still my left leg is too weak to jog.

The recovery for paralysis is like polio.....2 years....so I am thankful I have almost fully recovered within 10 months....And...
